| Hi, I am evaluating OAGIS standard and I am trying to understand it by creating sample mapping of EDI 850 document to the ProcessPurchaseOrder OAGIS BOD. In the OAGIS PurchaseOrder I could not find an equivalent structure for the EDI SDQ segment. On the PurchaseOrderLine level there is a placeholder for ShipToParty information. But it seems to me that there is no way to specify multiple ship to locations having different quantities for the same item.
What is the best way to map this kind of information (multiple ShipTo\QTY pairs per item) to OAGIS PurchaseOrder? Is it expected to duplicate PurchaseOrderLine element for each location (as it was done in earlier EDI versions)? OAGIS extensions? Any other ideas?
Also if someone has some information\links\examples\guidelines about OAGIS-EDI mapping, please share it.
BTW I am working with OAGIS 9.1 Thanks you in advance, Shurik. |

| EIDX created a crossreference for mapping Purchase Orders from EDI to OAGI and other standards. XRef (cross-reference) links semantically equivalent metadata fields across X12, UN/EDIFACT, RosettaNet, OAGIS, xCBL, and UDEF (Universal Data Element Framework). I think this is exactly what you need. You can download this "Xref" document from the EIDX/Comptia Website. I would suggest that you start by downloading the Xref and see if it answers your questions. If not let us know. |

| | Here is a response from one of fellow Industry colleague. Hope this sheds some light on your question Mir ============= From: Paul Kiel [mailto:paul@xmlhelpline.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2008 2:26 PM Subject: RE: FW: CompTIA e-Business Forum - New Topic Notification My 0.02, In order to have multiple ShipToParty(s) and different Quantity(s) for an Item without repeating the Item, then those 2 elements would need to be children of Item. In addition, you would need to make Quantity a child of ShipToParty (how else would you be able to tell which quantity went with which ShipToParty?). Something like this: <POLine> <Item> <ShipToParty> <Quantity> <ShipToParty> <Quantity> This would be convenient from this use case standpoint, but from a reusable data modeling view, it doesn’t make sense. Think about the other use cases for the Item element, and having these elements in there would be very confusing. Repeating the Line is the best way to do this outside of extension. |

| | Mir, thank you for the clarification about SDQ. As for EIDX_XREF project. I downloaded it but it looks like it is out of date. Looks like it was not updated since 2003, it references old OAGIS version and it references only few basic elements. Am I missing something here? Is there a newer version available? |
