Has anyone ever tried to buy anything from your local comet electrical shop? if so you will know what I mean here.
I bought a new PC and HD screen from them 3 weeks ago, and wanted advice from my local shop. I looked at my receipt and the phone number said 0844, yes one of those odd numbers again where you can never ring free.
Anyway I found it was one of these chatty women that went on and on about everything other than what I rang to ask, I was then told to say the name of the town I lived in to find my local store (I knew that already) the only thing I wished to have was the tel number to talk to sales, but you guessed it, I was not allowed to have that, as it would increase sales from folk not mobile enough to call in the store.
I am sorry folks but I can see a lot more shops are going to close in the UK if people are treated like this.
My 10 min phone call got no where, they lost me as another buyer in the future.
UK unemployment stands at about 3 million today, going higher every day, and I can see why, if you are thinking of starting a new business, or just started one, then you have got a lot of work to do avoiding shops like the one I mention here, as I often wonder if some shops try to kill off the business themselves, let alone the buyers.
