Hi,
I have to create a report about EDI capable in BizTalk 2006 R2. I need to provide advantages and disadvantages of using Biztalk 2006 R2 for EDI transaction. What kind of problem we have to face and so on.
I could not find enough information on internet.
Please help me in finding these info. Is there any good article on net ? any books?
They mainly want to know what are the issue we may face when we use BST 2006 R2 for EDI.

EDI property issue

Hi,

I guess, I can ask BizTalk 2006 R2 - EDI issues here. If I can not ask that here, please let me know so I would not post them here in the future.

I am trying to do Microsoft - EDI tutorial in BizTalk 2006 R2. According to the tutorial, I have to set up party in BizTalk Administration. I created party by right clicking on parties under the BizTalk server Administration. Now I need to set up the EDI Properties. I should see that EDI properties when I right click on the party name. However I dont see EDI property there. What is the reason for it? Did I miss any pre-set up?

I've been asked to give an EDI 101 presentation to a CPA group, and was reviewing one of my old presentations. My cost info is a bit dated as it comes from a 1995 presentation. Does anyone have more up-to-date statistics & can give me the source?

IBM Credit - Cut response time from 7 days to 4 hours and increased productivity 100%.
Eaton - Cut administrative effort in Order Processing by 95%.
R.J. Reynolds - cut administrative costs from $75 to $.93 per P.O.
Levi’s - cut Finished Goods Inventory 25% while increasing sales by 33%.

understanding the end and out of EDI

Ok. I have been doing some basic map translations and using Trusted Link Software to receive and send files.

I don't understand how to setup communications with other vendors? AS1, AS2, AS3. Is AS1 modem, AS2 http, and AS3 ftp?

Decimal define in X12 document

Is there a reason why the elements within the TDS implicitly define the decimal places? Most other segments that I looked at allow for an explicitly defined decimal, but the TDS is different. Are there other segments that do this? I must have learned this lesson years ago because the application layout covers it, but I was really wandering if anyone could explain why the TDS does things differently.
