| In the past few years, we have experienced a lot of changes in the weather and from what we now understand a lot of it has to do with how we handle the environment. They have linked our treatment of the environment to the climate problems we are experiencing now and therefore we have nothing to blame but ourselves.

| Keep The Land And Water Clean When You Are Doing Recreational Activities
Our children today are probably more conscious of the way the earth is polluted than many adults. Even though we were also educated about how bad pollution is, the filth of our planet is catching up with us at an alarming rate. It is up to us to do what we can to eliminate the pollution that is destroying our planet and one way we can do that is by paying attention to the trash we leave behind us.

| You could write to the EPA and tell them how you want to join a envornment protection team. Or you could get a group of people and start your own envornmental protection team. You all could go around your town or city and pick up trash and go around and talk to people about how important it is for them to protect thier envornment. Good luck

| Hi,
I would suggest that instead of directly joining a society or NGO for the environment protection, You can start from the very root, i. e. from around yourself. Do it in your capacity. Like, avoid use of motor vehicles for small distances, use bicycle instead; discipline yourself not to use air-conditioner when the temperatures are of the order of 18-28 degree Celsius; Use bucket and mug to bath instead of shower; Use light metal products instead of wood items for aesthetics and decoration; Discipline yourself not to spit pan, tobacco etc. here and there and like.

| A Comprehensive Environmental Pollution Index (CEPI), which is a rational number to characterize
the environmental quality at a given location following the algorithm of source, pathway and
receptor have been developed. The index captures the various health dimensions of environment
including air, water and land.
The present CEPI is intended to act as an early warning tool, which is handy to use. It can help in
categorizing the industrial clusters/areas in terms of priority of planning needs for interventions.
The process of evolution of method and mechanisms that yielded results are dynamic in nature.
Improvements and alterations for enhancing more effi ciency will be a continuous task.
Application of CEPI in 88 selected industrial clusters/areas has been an exercise involving Central
Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Concerned State Pollution Control Boards/ Pollution Control
Committees, and IIT Delhi.
The effective implementation of the remedial action plan will help in pollution abatement and
to restore the environmental quality of respective industrial clusters. The polluted industrial
clusters/areas shall be further explored in order to defi ne the spatial boundaries as well as the
extent of eco-geological damages. The outcome shall be subjected to structured consultation with
the stakeholders for determining comparative effectiveness of alternative plans and policies. The
preparation of effective remedial action plan will yield desired results in terms of sustainable use
of the carrying capacity of the respective industrial cluster/ area.
